COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT/BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Community Involvement continues to be a cornerstone of the vision for development in Hoke County. The Blue Springs-Hoke County Community Development Corporation (BS-HC CDC) is a direct out growth of many meetings wherein residents expressed the need for this kind of presence. BS-HC CDC utilizes democratic processes which are value-centered on inclusive participation. Each project of the CDC is provided guidance and oversight by a community-based advisory board. The 15-member Board of Directors meets quarterly and CDC meetings are open and publicly announced in the local weekly and other community outlets. Community voices have been sought and heard in shaping programs, setting goals, and designing project priorities for the organization. Evaluation of CDC program initiatives are completed by the board through an annual review of the CDC mission aligned with proposed plans and activities to determine if the expected outcomes are achieved and impacts made. A membership meeting is held annually to invite community input and involvement in CDC programs and planning.
