CED

Council for Entrepreneurial Development was founded in 1984 to stimulate the creation and growth of high impact companies in the greater Research Triangle area. Rural Consumer Services Corporation is an independent, not-for-profit coporation dedicated to economic development initiatives to improve the quality of life in Brunswick and Columbus Counties, North Carolina.  Site has a plethora of business development links and resources.

SBTDC

The Small Business Technology Development Center is North Carolina's resource for growing companies. It helps owners and managers gain knowledge essential to improving business practices, creating high-value products and services, and enhancing competitiveness. Ultimate objective is to improve North Carolina's economy through job creation and increased tax revenues.

The HUBZone Empowerment Contracting Program stimulates economic development and creates jobs in urban and rural communities by providing Federal contracting preferences to small businesses. These preferences go to small businesses that obtain HUBZone (Historically Underutilized Business Zone) certification in part by employing staff who live in a HUBZone.
